# Introduction to Nivo

Nivo is Glomo's capital markets suite. It gives anyone who brings investors to an investment one pipeline for the money and the journey:

- **Mutual funds.** Nivo takes an investor from the first tap to units allotted: KYC, payment, folio creation and unit allotment, with no manual handoffs. Glomo is integrated with the fund's registrar (RTA), so every investment goes straight to the RTA, which creates the folio and allots the units. You start the journey. Glomo runs everything after that.
- **Overseas investments.** Nivo sends a resident Indian investor's money abroad under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), from their own Indian bank account, so you can offer overseas investments without building the remittance yourself.

The name comes from *nivesh*, which means investment.

## Who Nivo is for

| Customer | What Nivo does for you |
| --- | --- |
| AMCs | **Nivo for AMCs.** Take investments into your own schemes on your own branded checkout. Run them through launches, NFOs, investor campaigns and recurring SIPs. |
| Distributors | **Nivo for Distributors.** Bring investors to any fund you have a relationship with. Your ARN is locked in on every investment, and the investor cannot change it. |
| Brokers | Offer overseas investments to your customers. Nivo runs the remittance from India under LRS, and you keep the investor relationship and the trade. See [Overseas investing under LRS](/capital-markets/overseas-investing). |
| Wealth management platforms | One pipeline for payments and overseas investments. Put Nivo behind an "Invest now" button in your app, on your site or in a campaign, and every investor gets their own journey with no extra build. A platform with an ARN also integrates as a distributor. |

Nivo is enabled per business. Contact Glomo support to set it up.

## Nivo APIs

| API | What it does | Start here |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Distributor onboarding | Onboard one known investor into a fund's scheme. Nivo runs their KYC, payment and unit allotment, credited to your ARN. | [Open payment sessions as a distributor](/capital-markets/distributor/set-up) |
| One Click Distributor Link | Create one link for a scheme and share it with as many investors as you like, on WhatsApp, email, your site or your app. The link does not expire, so you can reuse it next quarter. | [One Click Distributor Link](/capital-markets/distributor/share-a-link) |
| LRS SIP | Recurring global investing from the investor's India bank account, in USD: monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly. Set it up once and share one link. The investor is reminded before every instalment and pays straight from their bank. | [LRS SIP](/capital-markets/lrs-sip) |
| Complete onboarding and payments | For an AMC's own investors. One journey covers onboarding, KYC and payment, then Nivo submits the investment to your registrar (RTA) for folio creation and unit allotment. No spreadsheets or manual uploads to the RTA. | [How a purchase runs](#how-a-purchase-runs) |
| Overseas investing | Send a resident Indian investor's money abroad under LRS to buy overseas investments. You create the order. The investor approves the remittance with their bank. | [Overseas investing under LRS](/capital-markets/overseas-investing) |

## How Nivo works

The rest of this page explains the roles in a mutual fund purchase and the steps it runs. Read it before you start a mutual fund integration. For overseas investing, start at [Overseas investing under LRS](/capital-markets/overseas-investing).

## Who is involved

| Role | What it means on Nivo |
| --- | --- |
| Fund | The asset management company (AMC) business on Nivo. It owns the schemes, the customers, the payments and the folios. |
| Distributor | A business registered with an ARN that brings investors to a fund. It opens payment sessions for the fund's schemes. See [Distributor](/capital-markets/distributor). |
| Scheme | One investable product of a fund, identified by its scheme code. Each scheme has one plan. |
| Plan | `regular` or `direct`. A regular plan pays commission to the distributor named on the purchase. A direct plan has no distributor. |
| ARN | The AMFI Registration Number of a distributor. It is sent to the registrar (RTA) with a regular-plan purchase. |
| Folio | The investor's account with the fund at the registrar. The first purchase creates it. Later purchases add to it. |

## How a purchase runs

The fund's session type decides the steps. A typical investment session runs these in order:

1. **Identify the investor.** Email, and PAN if the fund requires it.
2. **Pick the folio.** A new folio, or an existing one for a returning investor.
3. **Choose the scheme plan and amount.**
4. **Complete KYC.**
5. **Pay.** For a resident Indian investor, this is a remittance under LRS. See [Collect LRS remittances from India](/payin/resident-india-remittance-under-lrs/set-up).
6. **Allot units.** Glomo submits the purchase to the registrar (RTA) through its RTA integration. The RTA creates the folio for a new investor and allots the units. The session completes when units are allotted.

The investor sees only the steps that need their input. Glomo runs the rest in the background.

## Who can open a session

- **The fund**, for its own investors. It can name one of its own schemes with `data.scheme.scheme_code`.
- **A distributor**, for a fund it has a relationship with. It must name the scheme. See [Open payment sessions as a distributor](/capital-markets/distributor/set-up).
